COVID-19 immunizations are currently not available here at our office. While we understand patients' preference would be to have it done here at our office, we strongly recommend getting the vaccine as soon as it is available for you. We do not know if/when we will have COVID-19 vaccines here.
As of yesterday afternoon, the Thunder Bay District Health Unit has announced that they are starting to accept older adults for the COVID-19 vaccine, them being one of the priority groups in Phase 1. This week, they are beginning with patients ages 85 and older, whose birthday is on or before January 1, 1936. This will change on a weekly basis, as they will open up eligibility via 5-year increments (the next eligibility will be ages 80 and older, then 75 and older, etc). Please watch for updates on the TBDHU website.
Eligible patients must book an appointment, they will not accept walk-ins. To book an appointment, please visit the TBDHU website at TBDHU.com/covidclinics (preferred as they are experiencing a high number of calls) or else via phone at 807-625-5900. Immunizations are only being done at the TBDHU COVID-19 Immunization Clinic, located at 425 Northern Avenue in the CLE Coliseum Building.
If you have any other questions, we first recommend checking our COVID-19 UPDATE page. We have updated it to include a Q&A section on the COVID-19 vaccines.
