Recognized NOSM Facility
Westview Medical is a teaching site for the Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM). During your appointment. you may receive care from a resident, medical student, or other health-care professional learner from the Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM). These individuals are working towards becoming practicing physicians.
Supervised by a professional on our team, we are committed to giving medical students, residents, and other healthcare professional learners the skills they require to serve you in the future. When you receive care from a NOSM learner, you are helping the Northern-trained health-professionals of tomorrow.
We thank you for contributing to the education of future physicians for Northwestern Ontario.
MEDICAL STUDENTS are in the MD program and working towards becoming a doctor. Though not yet physicians, the students work under the guidance of licensed physicians as part of their MD education.
RESIDENTS are individuals who have graduated from the MD program, and are now doctors. Working under the guidance of licensed physicians, postgraduate training is required by residents to obtain their license to practise medicine.
