COVID-19 Vaccines in Thunder Bay

Updated: Apr 7, 2021

COVID-19 immunizations are currently not available here at our office. While we understand patients' preference would be to have it done here at our office, we strongly recommend getting the vaccine as soon as it is available for you. Please be assured that we will let you know if/when we have any of the vaccines and if you are eligible to receive it from us.

As of April 6, the eligibility to receive a COVID-19 vaccine has grown:

  • Anyone outstanding from Phase 1

    • Healthcare workers

    • Long-term care homes, retirements homes, congregate living homes for seniors

    • Adults ages 18+ in First Nations, Métis and Inuit populations

  • Patients ages 60+ (for the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines)

  • Patients ages 55+ (for the Astra-Zeneca vaccine)

  • Patients who qualify under Highest Risk Health Condition and one primary essential caregiver

    • Organ transplant recipients

    • Stem cell transplant recipients

    • Neurological diseases where lung function may be compromised (e.g. Motor neuron disease, myasthenia gravis, multiple sclerosis)

    • Blood cancer diagnosed within the last year

    • Kidney disease with eGFR less than 30 mL/min

Eligible patients who are in bold must seek out and book an appointment.

Eligible patients who are not in bold will likely be contacted by the hospital or the health unit.

For information on how to book your appointment, please visit our COVID-19 UPDATE page. We have updated it to include a Q&A section on the COVID-19 vaccines along with the contact information for each immunization clinic.
